MSc Applied Psychology

The Master of Science in Applied Psychology is a professional course designed to provide students with a general awareness of the use of Psychological Principles and theories to overcome problems in the areas such as mental health, business management, education, health, product design, ergonomics and law. Applied Psychology includes the areas of Clinical Psychology, Occupational Health Psychology, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Human Factors, Engineering Psychology, Forensic Psychology, School Psychology, Educational Psychology, Sports Psychology, Community Psychology, Political Psychology, Positive Psychology, Research Psychology etc. Any candidate who successfully completes MSc Applied Psychology is eligible to work as professionals and researchers in all these fields.

Eligibility: Candidates who have studied Psychology or related subjects like Human Development, Physiology or Statistics at undergraduate level from a recognized University and secured 50% marks in Main and Subsidiary papers are eligible for admission.

Candidates shall be ranked for admission in the following priorities.

  1. Candidates with Psychology as the optional in part III and scoring 55% or above in Part III. (They shall be ranked according to the percentage of their marks in Part III Main, excluding subsidiaries).
  2. Candidates with Double main or Triple main pattern for under graduation and Psychology as one among the subjects. (They will be eligible for admission if they had secured 55% or above in Part III)
  3. Candidates with Psychology as the optional in Part III and scoring between 55% and 50% in Part III. (They shall be ranked according to the percentage of their marks in Part III Main, excluding subsidiaries).
  4. Candidates who have studied Psychology as one of the papers in the under graduation or post graduation and secured 50% or above in Part III. (eg. B A Sociology, Philosophy, Home Science, B.Ed, BSc. Nursing, BPT, MSW) (They will get an additional mark of 5 for each paper of Psychology studied).
  5. Candidates who have studied papers like Human Physiology, Human Development, Child Development or Statistics as one of the subjects of Part III for under graduation and secured 50% or above in Part III.

Syllabus: MSc Applied Psychology is a course that opens to a wide scenario of opportunities related to Clinical Psychology, Occupational health Psychology, Industrial and organizational Psychology, Human Factors, Engineering Psychology, Forensic Psychology, School Psychology, Educational Psychology, Sports Psychology, Community Psychology, Political Psychology, Positive Psychology and Research Psychology.
